ALEKI AFI

Born for This: The Journey of a Second-Generation Wrestler from the Samoan Dynasty

The story begins long before he ever laced up a pair of wrestling boots. He was born into it—into a legacy built on strength, respect, and pride. A second-generation wrestler and proud member of the renowned Samoan Dynasty, he is the son of the legendary Siva Afi.

Siva Afi made history in the 1970s, traveling the world and becoming one of the first Polynesian wrestlers signed to WWE. Despite often being misannounced as “Sivi Afi,” his presence in the ring was unmistakable. He wasn’t just a competitor—he was a pioneer, and to his son, a living legend.

From a young age, wrestling flowed through his veins. At just 17, he began training with NWA Hawaii while still attending high school. Most teenagers were focused on school dances and college applications—he was focused on headlocks, footwork, and earning his place in the ring.

At 20, his passion took him to Pennsylvania, where he trained under his cousin Samu. The East Coast was a world away from Hawaii, but it was another important step in a journey that would continue to mold him, not just as a wrestler but as a man carrying the weight of a proud name. Later, he moved to Florida to train under his uncle—WWE Hall of Famer Afa the Wild Samoan. Under Afa’s tutelage at WXW, the training intensified. It was no-nonsense, old-school wrestling, and it was exactly what he needed.

It was at a WXW show that fate introduced him to something even greater—his future wife. In the midst of a world defined by toughness, competition, and legacy, love found a way. Wrestling wasn’t just his career—it was the place where life began to open up in unexpected and beautiful ways.

Now, every time he steps into the ring, he carries more than just his own ambition. He carries his father’s legacy. His family’s name. The spirit of the islands. The fire of those who came before him.

This is more than a wrestling story. This is a story of heritage, grit, and heart. And it’s only just begun
